You’ll notice that many of the links to products (books, seltzer machines, credit cards and so on) on brip blap take you directly to a page where you can buy that product. These links are ‘affiliate links,’ which means three things:
- The link is specific to bripblap.com, which allows the people who run the site you visit to know I sent you.
- If you do, in fact, buy a product after clicking through on one of my affiliate links, I will make a small amount of money – maybe 3% of what you pay.
- The fact that the link is an affiliate link does not change what you pay for a product; the commission I receive does not affect what you pay in any way. You’d pay the same price if you went directly to the site.
Running a blog takes a little bit of money to pay for hosting, domain registration and occasional ‘extras’ like my recent upgrade to the Catalyst Theme. Running a blog takes a large amount of time, too. Writing is just part of it; coding, replying to emails, dealing with spam, and so on take time, too. I’ve included these affiliate links to offset most of the cost of maintaining bripblap.com, but also hopefully to compensate me somewhat for my time. So if you do see me write about something that you’d be interested in buying, you can help me by using my affiliate link to buy it. It won’t cost you anything, and it will help me keep blogging. Thanks! – Steve
