midweek linkfest
Brip Blap got quite a few mentions around the Interweb that I’d like to point out and for which I’m very appreciative. I do this knowing full well I just finished bashing people who leave link posts, but I’ll try to throw in some diverting commentary so this isn’t just a dry set of links.
Kyle at the Rather-Be-Shopping Blog listed his top ten favorite personal finance blogs and I made #1. Every blog he listed is great, so I’m very grateful to even be on the list. Any time I get mentioned in a group like this (and particular with one of my favorite blogs, Lazy Man and Money) I’m amazed.
I made Clever Dude’s list of personal finance blogs in his reader.
I also made 8 “weekly roundup” type posts in the past week, so a big thanks to The Simple Dollar, Four Pillars, The Digerati Life, I’ve Paid For This Twice Already, Moolanomy, FIRE Finance, Cash Money Life and A Penny Closer.
You may notice that I’ve gone to excerpts on all front page posts except the first few. Every day the the most recent posts will be full and the rest will be excerpted on the main page (but full on the single post page). “Why?” you may ask. “Because my posts are so long that you can get carpal tunnel syndrome scrolling down the page and I don’t want all of these posts buried like that,” I would answer. Plus supposedly it’s better for SEO or something (maybe I can double my search visitors from 5 to 10 per day).
On top of all that, my RSS numbers are slowly but surely approaching triple digits and my daily visits are hovering right around triple digits, too. If you like any of my posts and you have a few seconds to hit the “Share This” link and Digg or Stumble or Whirlybird or Funkytown me I sure would appreciate it!
