linklings: Odin’s Day Part II: Ragnarok Strikes Back
I ended up with so many more links – carnivals and other good links – that I decided I needed a second Wednesday linklings (on Thursday). If you are looking for consistency, don’t look here! These are good articles and well worth clicking through to read. I’m amazed by the quality of the internet, but particularly the little corner I move around in – there are a lot of good people who really care about what they are writing about, and it’s been a real pleasure so far to keep up with their writing.

The December Career & Job Advice – Blog Carnival
- I had a post featured at the December Career & Job Advice Blog Carnival, which is always a fun read. Another post I really liked was The Pursuit of Self-Employment.
Building, Diversifying, and Shifting Your Income Streams | Moolanomy
- Pinyo from Moolanomy has a post on one of my new favorite subjects: income streams. Basically a run down of all of the ways you can make money, this is a good place to start your brainstorming.
2008 Financial Resolutions | Cash Money Life
- The inaugural version of the Carnival of Financial Goals is up at Cash Money Life and well worth the visit. Patrick took a lot of work on by starting a new carnival and it’s a great idea. I have a submission there, but there are many, many great posts to read there. I thought Father Sez had a great one – to teach his 5 children the most important financial lessons. Another terrific submission was My Dollar Plan‘s resolution: a nine-year finance plan! That’s the kind of ambitious planning I love to see.
The New File System – Final Update
- One of the participants in my public declaration meme (albeit indirectly) Canadian Dream has a success story – completely organized in his filing system. He’s not done filing, but his system is in place and everything is going according to plan. Nice to see something like this happen for someone, isn’t it?
The big flood, and my emergency fund ark – Smart Spending
- Eh, what’s an emergency fund really for? Do I need one? Don’t think of an emergency as just “I can’t pay for the new tires.” Sometimes life is going to come at you from a weird angle and you’ll be glad to have a little bit extra lying around.
- I have a guest post, “7 tips to manage your cash when traveling,” up at plonkee money. I was a little nervous sending my guest post all the way overseas by himself, but plonkee picked him up at the airport and now everything’s fine. Seriously, plonkee’s another one of my daily must-reads, and you should check out her blog (or her feed if you are a feed-reader type)! Not to mention another blog with a slightly odd name is always welcome!

Thanks for bringing some attention to the Carnival of Financial Goals! A lot of great people came together to make this happen, and I am glad to have helped facilitate!
I liked your guest post at Plonkee Money as well. Good stuff!
Thank you the kind mention, and the link.
Actually, I must give due credit Patrick for this article, as he
i) Came up with the idea of this Carnival, which I thought was very timely now that we are almost ending the year, and
ii) gave me encouragement on clarifying my thoughts and writing them down.
Thanks again, Patrick.
Thank you for mentioning my post. Now we need to get together and brainstorm on how to make money.
Thanks for highlighting my post! I love planning, hence the nine year plan. Glad you enjoyed it.
