linklings “is it snowing yet?” edition

If you’re visiting from Zen Habits, welcome! Since this was just a roundup post and doesn’t tell you much about my site, I’d encourage you to check out my about page or some of my most popular posts:

Here’s a short roundup this Saturday. The first substantial (i.e. wet) snow of the year is due tomorrow, and I couldn’t be happier. No, really. I had an interesting Friday with a rapid descent into the maelstrom of corporate politics, causing me to remember once again how much I appreciate my consultant-rather-than-employee status. So now for a few links:
The Bing Blog: Beware the holiday party «
- Bing has a very funny – but true – article about the perils of ye olde holiday party. I’ve been to these parties – the moral of the story is AVOID THE OFFICE HOLIDAY PARTY. Period.
- At Lazy Man and Health, the perfectly healthy day is laid out using a list from Men’s Health. Basically it incorporates all the healthiest foods and life-extending habits into a single day. It’s a great idea. I was going to say it would be too hard to do on a daily basis, and then I thought about how stupid that would sound to my 86-year old self. “What, you couldn’t take a fish oil pill once a day to extend your life a bit?”
Faith in Humanity: How to Bring People Closer, and Restore Kindness | Zen Habits
- I’ve been a big fan of Zen Habits for a while, but this is a wonderful, wonderful post. Just read it and do it in your own life. Positivity is making a big difference for me and I think paying it forward – a fantastic concept crippled by an idiotic movie of the same name – is the key to any thinking person’s life. Please, read it!

Thanks for the link. It’s very difficult to do every healthy thing, every day, but it can’t hurt to try sneak a few of them into your schedule over time. If you miss 20%, you’ll still do well.
