I had a really good college experience by and large, but this would be a good list for someone starting out. My main regret was that I spent a lot of time with my fraternity that I could have better spent on other social activities.

Problogger has a good post about reviewing site statistics. It seems to me that my personal-finance-related posts do fairly well in terms of stats (such as this one and this one), and some of the more “personal” posts such as this one and this one aren’t searched for or read or commented nearly as much. I’ll think about where I’m going with that. I think a lot about narrowing the focus, but I enjoy writing on multiple topics, too. I’m also considering launching a tea blog – is that a good idea? It’s been interesting to me to see how the narrowing of focus over at Four Pillars this week onto baby-related finance questions seems to have really driven some good conversation.

I love getting comments on my posts – more so than high traffic. I’ve only had my blog for 2.5 months or so but it’s been interesting that I can’t seem to predict which posts will generate more interest. Might be luck of the draw to some degree depending on who is reading your blog that day?
Also – as much fun as it’s been, the baby theme is temporary!!

I guess you were in the other extreme spending a lot of time with your fraternity. You are right, there’s so many things to do while you are in college young people should not overly focus on one thing — they will miss out a lot.
No problem on the link, Pinyo, it was a good post. You could say that people in general should never overly focus on one thing in life to the exclusion of everything else, right? College is a good place to start ‘diversifying’ your life, but even after college I have been guilty of placing huge focus in one or two areas of my life at a time and neglecting other areas.
Amen to that.
