Late linklings
OK, here’s my roundup of some of the most interesting stuff I read this week in this little jumble of info we lovingly call The Internets:
The always-excellent Zen Habits has Get Off Your Butt, 16 Ways to Get Motivated When You’re In A Slump. No reason to pretend you’ve never been there!
The Digerati Life leads off with an attention-getting photo and continues with an attention-getting article. It’s a combination that is, well, attention-getting. Go read Nope, Not Selling Our House. Not Even For 1000% Rate Of Return In 2 Years and tell me why people are so kooky.
Tips For Effectively Working From Home and being Mom, too by I’ve Paid For That Twice Already is a great how-to on how to work from home AND be a mom. I’m hoping to someday work from home, but I am less confident of ever becoming a mom. You can also expect a review of “Smart Couples Finish Rich” soon from her website since she won my contest!
From his “Examine Your Motives” series, Clever Dude has Changing Jobs. I just started hitting this blog a couple of weeks ago and really enjoy it. Almost as much as I enjoy quitting jobs/clients…
Ask Dong has What Now? I think he’s asking a question a lot of personal finance bloggers ask – if you’re not in debt, and not struggling to get enough to save for retirement, what’s next? What is the challenge/goal? I find myself in that position – should I concentrate on early retirement? Furthering my career? Taking time off now? Oh, the hedonic treadmill’s got me again (go look up that term).
And finally, I’ll remind everyone to check out The Wealthy Canadian – a new blog but (I think) off to a strong start, mainly because I really liked this post.
Enjoy Saturday night. I will be spending it enjoying another idyllic Northeastern summer evening. Cool, quiet, breezy – almost enough to make you forget the shrieking ice-soaked winds coming our way in two months.

thanks for the mention! I am pretty sure it could apply to being dad too but since I am not Dad, I left that alone.
Actually I make a pretty decent Mom. Today I fed Little Buddy breakfast, put him to sleep for his nap, took care of a messy #2, changed diapers 6 times, played with him all day, and put him to sleep this evening. Other than breastfeeding him, I figure I’m Mom material. Actually if Bubelah could get a job making my salary I would stay home in a minute and just be a stay-at-home blogger dad. That’s actually my dream job… I am one of those dads who can’t get enough from my child, and if I could generate enough from web work to stay home I’d do it. My desire to work my way up the corporate ladder sputtered out and died two years ago…
I’m a pretty good Mom too – I can do all the things that Brip Blap mentioned but I have to be honest – I have no desire to stay home with him everyday. I’d rather go to work and enjoy the time I have with him before and after work and on weekends.
Mike
By the way – thanks for putting me on your “Brip Blap recommends” list.
