carnivals roundup

I had articles included at three different carnivals over the last week, and as always I really appreciate the opportunity!

My post Achieving Greatness was included at The October Carnival of Career and Job Advice at the Career Counselor. Another great post there was Erin Pavlina’s Making a Living vs. Making a Life. I know that I need to get out of my corporate consulting job, I know, I know, quit reminding me already!

Over at Credit Card Lowdown the 19th edition of the Carnival of Money, Growth and Happiness (a new carnival for me) is up. My post on stopping negative thoughts was included. Gamy Rachel has a very interesting post titled Is Your Mind Helping or Hurting You ? posted at Mind Think Success. The article is very interesting. I’ve been reading and thinking a lot about the law of attraction and positive thinking (and so on) and while some of the “mystical” aspects of it don’t really appeal to me the general positive, goal-driven attitude does. But after you read the article, take 6 minutes to watch the attached video. Stick with it – the ending is fascinating. Really, watch it.

Ask Mr. Credit Card hosted the great big Carnival of Personal Finance #121. My post on Ben Franklin was included, and there were – as usual – a lot of great articles there. One Girl’s Quest post on If I Had a Personal Finance Time Machine has one really shocking number in it – I was thrown for a loop. JVW from The Good Life On A Budget has a good post on Is This Really What We Want To Teach Children? I hate to say it, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Monopoly is bad enough, but you can throw in TV, watching mommy and daddy use the credit card, and on and on. I came across this blog via Lazy Man and Money a few days ago, and I agree with his assessment – it’s an interesting blog, and worth checking out.

So that’s the carnival rundown so far this week, but there will probably be more to come…
