Here are a few updates: I was pleased to be able to write a guest post for Saving for a Home of My Own, whose author Saving Diva has been one of the most faithful and frequent readers of Brip Blap since I started writing and consequently won my guest post contest. She has a really fun blog and it’s a daily read for me – you can read it here, or subscribe to her feed.
I also had articles included in two carnivals: Carnival of Personal Finance #127 at Moolanomy and the Personal Development & Happiness Carnival: Issue 17 at The Next 45 Years. There are a lot of good reads at both carnivals and they are very definitely on different subjects (although you could argue they overlap) and you should jump over and check them both out!
I was absolutely thrilled to see Penelope Trunk of Brazen Careerist include a link to my article “8 Steps to a Six-Figure Career” in her latest Yahoo! Personal Finance column “Getting Over Job Separation Anxiety. ” If you’ve read this blog for a while you know I’m a big fan of Penelope’s writing and I have made an intentional effort to rip off her style. In addition to her writing style I’ve consistently been amazed at how accurately she analyzes the modern workplace. If you haven’t read her book Brazen Careerist: The New Rules for Success
I’ll also throw out a random article to read: College Will Kill Your Entrepreneurial Spirit While Simultaneously Turning You into a Worker Bee. Clever article, interesting site, although it’s definitely going to make you flinch from time to time.
I’ll be spending Black Friday being a conspicuous non-shopper, although I might eat out at a restaurant. We had a Thanksgiving chicken (just for a change) and I’m still not sure how much enthusiasm I’ll muster for food in the near future after eating, well, more than I should have. It’s still a nice, low-key holiday though; we had a nice meal, a good long walk and plenty of fun with our extended family (parents, in-laws, nephew, etc.). Enjoy the rest of your long weekend, Americans – and enjoy your normal weekend, non-Americans

Just Stumbled Upon your blog, and was intrigued by your Jets loyalty. Having left Jersey last Spring for Sedona, Arizona my husband and I still find ourselves believing in a new, great season for the Jets. Some things never die, I guess.

Jets loyalty is indeed “intriguing”! Well done for the yahoo link, richly deserved of course. I keep meaning to pick up the Brazen Careerist book. I have a couple of moleskines too, despite my aversion to the GTD- hipster PDA-lifehacking thang, and they certainly are very nice. I’ve used them as workout logs for a couple of years now. There is, believe it or not, a blog devoted to expensive notebook fetishism. Reading that will disabuse you of the notion that you have the sickness!
Hmm. Hate to be a pest, but it seems hyperlinks are barely visible in the comments boxes as published. Any chance you could tweak that?

No, that’s a good catch – I added an underline to it so it should be a bit easier to catch. It was the “visited” URLs that were shaded, but the shading doesn’t show up well on the comments on with the dark background. Hopefully that underline is good enough for now. I’ll tinker with it a bit more after I get Little Buddy in bed…
I just found your blog recently and really enjoy it. The idea of a moleskine is appealing to me. I am trying desperately hard to make some improvements in my life. I shall consider a notebook an excellent first step to consider in my endeavor toward more organization.
