This week has been another one of those weeks that’s just managed to drift away from me. I’m falling behind on flipping through my reader, as well, but I pulled out a few posts worth reading.   I think I’m trying to read too many blogs; I’ve got so many in my reader that I’m intimidated on a daily basis by the information overflow.  I should probably spend more time continuing to study my potential new career…

ETFs vs. Mutual Funds: Which One is Right for You?: Personally I prefer mutual funds (Vanguard, with one exception) but I think on balance ETFs are probably better.

16 Thoughts on Oprah’s Stanford Commencement Speech: I suppose Oprah must be the crown jewel of commencement speakers. I wonder what position she’ll hold in an Obama administration?

For Sale By Owner - Tips for Selling Your House Without a Realtor: This is something Bubelah and I have considered doing; this is the first article in a series, so I’ll be interested to follow along.

Cats in the Cradle, Money, and Family: This practically sounds like a post I might have written! Worrying about spending time at work rather than with the family…

Big Toys For Top Dollar: 5 Reasons People Spoil Their Kids: I’ll admit, I like the treehouse. I wonder if Countrywide would finance it…

Using Old Extensions in Firefox 3: Not exactly on our usual finance/career/life topics, but a good tip for you if you’re a Firefox user.

How to Handle Irregular Paychecks: Many people don’t have this problem, but I do. My income fluctuates pretty significantly depending on how many hours I charge the client each week, so I have to use many of these tips.

First “double link”: two great articles from Penelope Trunk, New way to measure blog ROI and The hardest part of my job is that everyone lies about parenting. The first post is very touching, and the second is exceptionally harsh - but very true.

Second “double link”: Millionaire Mommy’s writing a series that started with I Want More Money and has led up to yesterday’s post, What Is Your Happiness Score? (plus Day 5). I love her mindset and approach, and if you have any interest in attraction, these are good articles to read.

In the carnivals, the Carnival of Careers was hosted at Cash Money Life. Patrick did a great job, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, do so! Next week it’s going to be at Rich Credit Debt Loan, so submit your posts now!

I also participated in the Carnival of Personal Finance, which as always was a very large collection of articles!
