It varies, but for the most part, parents treat teachers like some sort of glorified maid. I don't know how to "fix" the perception people have of the professions you mentioned. For the most part, Americans respect money, so professions that make a lot of money get a lot of respect. While I suspect auditors make a tad more than the other professions you mentioned, you still probably don't make what you ought! Thanks for the comment about teachers.
