Here’s a short roundup this Saturday. The first substantial (i.e. wet) snow of the year is due tomorrow, and I couldn’t be happier. No, really. I had an interesting Friday with a rapid descent into the maelstrom of corporate politics, causing me to remember once again how much I appreciate my consultant-rather-than-employee status.   • Bing has a very funny - but true - article about the perils of ye olde holiday party. I’ve been to these parties - the moral of the story is AVOID THE OFFICE HOLIDAY PARTY. Period.

The Healthiest Day?

  • At Lazy Man and Health, the perfectly healthy day is laid out using a list from Men’s Health. Basically it incorporates all the healthiest foods and life-extending habits into a single day. It’s a great idea. I was going to say it would be too hard to do on a daily basis, and then I thought about how stupid that would sound to my 86-year old self. “What, you couldn’t take a fish oil pill once a day to extend your life a bit?”

  • I’ve been a big fan of Zen Habits for a while, but this is a wonderful, wonderful post. Just read it and do it in your own life. Positivity is making a big difference for me and I think paying it forward - a fantastic concept crippled by an idiotic movie of the same name - is the key to any thinking person’s life. Please, read it!
